The Association for Preservation Technology International (APT) is a non-profit, educational corporation established in 1968 and dedicated to encourage, promote and advance research, training and the dissemination of information relating to preservation technology and the historic preservation of buildings, sites and objects. Members are architects, engineers, conservators, landscape architects, scientist, curators, historians, consultants, educators and craftsman representing government agencies, public institutions and the private sector. The approximately 1600 members currently reside in 30 countries around the globe and practice around the world. Information is gained and disseminated through regional chapter events; networking; annual conferences; training courses; a peer reviewed journal, the APT Bulletin published three times a year; a bimonthly electronic newsletter, the Communique; and a website - www.apti.org.
